Reviews for Quadratec Adventure Mirrors for 76-25 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ, YJ, CJ & Gladiator JT
they work pretty good. good deal of vibration while driving. but over all not to bad
I like the look of these, unfortunately I ran into a few problems.
1. I was unable to tighten the posts to the point where they wouldn't move. This became an issue when driving down the road @ 60mph and the passenger mirror post shifted in the wind and the mirror became useless.
2. The vibration on a stock 2017 Jeep in Park is enough to see vibration in both mirrors. I'm pretty sure this has to do with the lack of tightness on the posts.
3. The passenger side post where the threads start seems to be separating from the rest of the post. (it looks like they are 2 separate pieces with the threaded part inserted into the upper post.) Since only my passenger side post does that, i'm going to assume it was just broke when I got it. Basically I'm down to 1 mostly functional mirror.
Good quality. A lot of visible vibration at road speeds
Size of mirrors are perfect. The only issue I have found was the mounting of mirror was a bit of a pain. The mirrors have to be tightened a good bit so no movement occurs while driving. The washers that come with kit are cheap plastic and they do not look very good once installed.
Square mirrors missing flat washers and acorn nuts shown in directions. Mirrors whistle and vibrate, but will keep you legal.
They fit great but they rattle very intensely. Had to get a different style of mirror that connects to the grab handle and its amazing.
OMG. Can't even see out of them when moving. I gave them a two since I don't think they really are expected to not vibrate. But geesh man.
While these mirrors do the job, there are a couple of niggling issues. First off, you really have to crank them down pretty tight. If you don't, the wind will blow them in, rendering them useless. So, when you do crank the down tight enough, it destroys the flimsy plastic washers that are supposed to protect your paint. After you get them tight enough and everything is in place, then you have to deal with the whistling and vibration when you hit about 35 mph.
I don't think these mirrors will be my long term solution. I'll be replacing them with something a bit more robust.
Fine if you're only looking to technically be street legal. Can't get them to stay straight no matter how hard I tighten, wind blows them in. Also, a much bigger pain to mount and take off each time than I thought it would be. Just keep your wrench handy I guess.
Easy install and they look great. Problem is the vibrate extensively, so much so that it's difficult to make out what's in the mirror. They also don't stay tight if you rotate the arm as the lock nut grabs and loosens with each rotation.
