Reviews for Quadratec Adventure Mirrors for 76-25 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ, YJ, CJ & Gladiator JT
Easy to install. Looks good on my jeep. Only con is the whistle sound once you get up to speed.
Like most others, the mirrors flop. I developed a work around that fixed the flipping. I bought a small aluminum rod and sprayed it with tool dip so it wouldn’t scratch the paint. I used three black cable ties to extend the 5” rod from the horizontal bar on the mirror. The rod rests on the door frame and prevents the mirrors from folding in even a highway speed. Aesthetically, you don’t notice. For the price of the mirrors it seemed like an okay work around. That way I don’t have to tighten the bolts too tight either.
Simple easy setup. Definitely get what you paid for but they do their job. Constant adjusting especially traveling at highway speeds.
Yes - they work. Yes for $40- they are worth it. BUT - the glass quality is average; they fog easily; they do NOT stay in place very well but they are workable. Yes - you will monkey with them to keep them tight, etc. But - for $40; it's way better to have them than to have nothing. Quality and fitment could be a LOT better.
Which they were quicker to put on, like a quick release of some sort
Just ok. Almost impossible to keep in place and tight.
Kinda flop around but serve the purpose
I like the look of the mirrors. They vibrate a bit much for me but they are mostly just on there not to get a ticket so not too concerning. The plastic washers bend under torque which is annoying. Perhaps they should give thicker washers with the kit. Even after torquing them down, they still are prone to move.
Yes, they swing inward at about 50mph making them useless. This would be such an easy fix. Instead of the stem coming straight down to go into the door hinge, a simple V-shaped offset in the nech would rest against the door frame. My remedy was to 'JB Weld' a 2" bolt to the stem to act as a stop. It's solid, now.
Keeps you from getting a ticket for not having mirrors. Will not hold position, though.
