Torque Staff Report

Quadratec Inc., the world's largest independent retailer of parts and accessories for Jeep® vehicles, today announced it is traveling across the country to the California high desert for the 16th annual King of the Hammers race event February 2-5. The company will provide compelling daily race and lifestyle coverage across its Torque and social channels, and interact with customers through its Hammertown event location.

Additionally, leading up to King of the Hammers, nationally renowned vehicle builder Greg Henderson and Torque Editor-in-Chief Matthew Konkle will be taking Quadratec’s custom YJL build from Michigan to Johnson Valley, California, offering featured content throughout the 3,500-mile journey.

“King of the Hammers Is traditionally considered the toughest one-day desert and off-road race event in the world,” said Quadratec Director of Creative Content Eric Ammerman. “It features all types of 4x4 vehicles, especially Jeeps, in all types of situations, and we are excited to have a front-row seat this year to bring the Hammers’ experience right to our audience.”

King of the Hammers is annually held in the Mojave Desert every February, and combines furious timed high-speed dry lakebed racing with steep, uneven rock crawling. This year, the nine-day race schedule is packed with six events, including the final-day King of the Hammers featured race, and 500 race teams.

Quadratec will highlight special video and digital content about King of the Hammers, as well as its YJL vehicle at various stopping points on a ‘Road to Johnson Valley’ segment exclusively on its Torque content channel. Torque will also carry King of the Hammers race and Hammertown coverage, as will the company’s social platforms, throughout the event week.

The company’s premier Hammertown booth location will provide unique access to Quadratec’s YJL, along with one-of-a-kind King of the Hammers stickers and other giveaway items.
